This year is a very busy time of year for family sessions because everyone wants to take advantage of the Fall foliage. I don’t blame them. I love it, too! Last year, I photographed this family for the first time, and I am so glad they came back to me this year. They are such a pleasure to photograph.
This mom was very realistic in her expectation of her son. It is sometimes hard to get a toddler to cooperate for pictures, and some toddlers are a little more agreeable than others. We tried a few “plain” clothes pictures, but this little guy just wasn’t feeling it. And, this is where plan B was a good thing. They brought their Ravens jersies to try and get a picture or two. When she told me that they’d like to do a Ravens pictures, I decided to bring a football. When the more traditional family pictures wasn’t going smoothly, we decided to go ahead to try and get one or two in the jersies. They aren’t necessarily the most traditional family pictures, but they truly are a reflection of this sports lovin’ family. I would consider this a touchdown!!
This family is so fun! The little boy is so incredibly cute and a pretty easy going little boy for his pictures. I love the red/white/blue clothing combination for the pictures, and what about those suspenders . . . cute?!
It was one hot day for mini-sessions! It’s a good thing that a mini-session doesn’t last too long. When I began as a photographer, I offered mini-sessions to help build my business, and I didn’t really love them the first couple of years. I found it difficult to enjoy the session because I didn’t have time to get to know my clients. That has all changed. This time around I only had two new families, and the one family I kind of, sort of knew them. It was nice to see the familiar faces for mini-sessions even if it was only for 15-20 minutes. Here are a couple pictures from a couple of the sessions. Doesn’t it make you want to schedule a mini-session?
What is a mini-session? Well, it is a session at a specific location, on a specific date. They are more affordable because I book several sessions on a give date with several time slots. Your session lasts 15-20 minutes and you only get 8-10 images. You also get an 8×10 from your session, so you have at least one professional print. A mini-session is $125 (or at least that is the new price effective June 1) and you’ll have the option to add on a print package. Want to get on the waiting list? Just send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org or message me on Facebook. Or, you can contact me from this post . . .
It was a very, chilly April morning for this session! It was nice that the sun was shining. I wish that everything was a little more green. It looks a little more like a Fall session rather than a Spring session. But, I loved the location . . . this is one of my new favorite location to take pictures. I love the color scheme for the outfits . . . blue and yellow. I love that they coordinated, but they weren’t too matchy, matchy.
I am anxious for Spring to arrive. I am looking forward to sunshine and color . . . fortunately for me these brother & sister combo brought me a little bit of color. You would think that I would post my pictures in color, but I am in a black & white kind of mood, so I hope you enjoy them just the same.
Wow! I think we did this session on one of the hottest nights in June. They are such a nice family. The little girl who just turned 4 years old was a character! She was great. And, her little sister was just 8 weeks old which can be a difficult age to photograph. I am hoping to see them in a couple more months, because I think it will be a lot more fun when the sisters can interact a little more with each other!
