Hello There!

Welcome to Pictures by Whitney! My name is Whitney Marzullo. I am a custom newborn & family photographer based in Southern York County, Pennsylvania. I love everything photography, but my passions are newborns & families. I love photographing families & watching them grow. I believe that you don't need to have a special occasion to have a session, because every day is a good day to capture a smile!

This little girl arrived a month early!  What a wonderful little surprise and a cute little peanut.  She was 7 days old for her session.  Her mom wanted something sweet and simple with neutral creams and a touch of pink.  This little one didn’t really like to be au natural, and she preferred to be on her back curled up in a tight little ball.  The pictures she was willing to pose for were perfect.  I have no complaints about this little one.  Wouldn’t you agree that she is adorable?

One Chillin’ Family | Southern York County Pennsylvania Family Photographer

It was a very, chilly April morning for this session!  It was nice that the sun was shining.  I wish that everything was a little more green.  It looks a little more like a Fall session rather than a Spring session.  But, I loved the location . . . this is one of my new favorite location to take pictures.  I love the color scheme for the outfits . . . blue and yellow.  I love that they coordinated, but they weren’t too matchy, matchy.

Sharp Dressed 2 Year Old Lil’ Man | Southern York County Family Photographer

I think photographing toddlers and preschoolers is a challenging task.  They are so incredibly cute, but they are often uncooperative.  Some will allow their parents to offer encouragements and rewards (aka bribes of candy and toys.)  It can be somewhat limiting when you are doing a studio session.  Sometimes, it is easier when they can be outside to explore, but we don’t live in one of those climate that is conducive to outdoor session in February.  I must say that this little guy did well for his session.  I know he probably had a lot more smiles, but he wasn’t sharing a lot of them with me . . . maybe next time.  I thought he was one sharp dressed lil’ man.

I would love to have my own off-site studio space, but my plan from the time that I began my business was slow & steady.  As much as I would have loved to jump in with both feet, I needed to find balance.  I am a wife and mother of 3 very busy kids.  The reason I left my government job was to focus more on the family to accommodate a husband who worked a lot of hours and enjoying my kids while they were still young.  It is my plan to have an off-site studio space, but for now, I very much enjoy my in-home studio.  I wish it were a little bigger and I wish I had storage for all my props and backgrounds, but I won’t complain because I get to do what I love and I get to still spend time with the ones I love.

Sweet Baby Boy | Southern York County Family Photographer

This little boy was so incredibly sweet.  He was anxious to make it into this big, beautiful world and he was 6 weeks premature.  With so much going on, he missed his window for some of the more traditional newborn pictures.  But no worries.  He is 2 months old and so incredibly cute (and healthy.)  We tried very hard to do some of the more traditional newborn poses, and these are just a few of the pictures we were able to capture.
